Community checks only help other renters and buyers if they describe what was actually observed. These guidelines apply to every report submitted for publication.
Do
- Report what you saw, heard or tested on the day of your visit.
- Say when you could not test something instead of guessing.
- Add photographs of the condition you are describing, not of people.
- Give the area and street context that helps others, at the visibility level you choose.
Do not
- Name or accuse landlords, caretakers, neighbours or agents.
- Include faces, number plates, documents, or anything identifying an occupant.
- Submit a property you have not visited, or copy someone else's report.
- Use the platform to pressure a landlord or agent in a dispute.
- Post abusive, discriminatory or misleading content.
How review works
A CribCheck reviewer reads every submission before publication. We may approve it, approve it privately, ask you for changes, or reject it. Duplicate submissions for the same property are merged into one canonical property page. We can unpublish a record at any time if it becomes inaccurate or a privacy concern is raised.
